Welcome to Brentlivermore.com |
G'day, my name is Brent Livermore and welcome to my website!
Join me and the Kookaburra’s as we focus on the next Olympiad and the New Journey towards London 2012.
The Beijing Olympics have come and gone and the Kookaburra’s were unable to claim back to back Gold which was a major focus but still claimed the Bronze Medal from the Games.
Since winning the Kookaburra's first Olympic Gold in Athens 2004 the hunger and desire to represent Australia on the World Stage has only increased.
This site will keep you informed and up-to-date with myself and The Kookaburras on the journey as we embark on new challenges as the history making Olympic Champions. As we faced aspirations and the battle striving for back to back Olympic Gold, our nearest rivals Germany have been consistent performers to claim Gold.
From the disappointing Olympic Bronze in Beijing, it is time to site back and reset our goals and analyze our performance now and plan for the future.
On a personal note you would immediately think that a player is finished, washed up and retiring. This player is different, it could not be further from the norm as you may expect. It is my mentality, drive and passion that I am jumping to build that extension with greater determination and on a greater scale than has been imagined due to my disappointing set back. For the time being I have fallen off the tip of the mountain, but like any good climber I will fight to regain my footing and climb to the highest peak. Throughout my 11 years of representing Australia Internationally on the world stage which includes 2 Olympic Games, 3 Commonwealth Games and World Cup and numerous Champions Trophy’s this was my first major injury that has seen me sidelined having to miss two major tournaments. It is devastating for me and my supporters that not only 4years, but a lifetime of preparation has led to the unfortunate non-selection to the Beijing Olympics. This is sport and as an elite athlete this is one of the challenges to succeed that drives us to compete at the elite level. If this all came easy we all would possibly not strive so hard. The next challenge for me is to get the injury right and it is how I react from such a set back. Already I feel the passion and desire to bounce back even stronger than ever and pursue greater achievements, memories, dreams and milestones. Deep down I have the burning desire to comeback and fight for London 2012.
At present we wait in limbo for the new appointment of the Kookaburra’s Head Coach which will guide us through to London and beyond. The foundations have been built and the exciting vision is the future that we dare to challenge and make our own. Come along and support us, follow our every move and join us as we play and represent Australia globally.
Feel free to drop me a line in the 'Contact Me' section if you have any questions and I will reply as soon as possible.
I hope you enjoy it!
